Filipino GL series you can’t miss

Girls’ love (GL) series is a niche genre (Yuri) that is rising globally. Film and show creators like Samantha Lee, a film director known for movies and mini-series such as Baka Bukas, Billie and Emma, Rookie, and Sleep with Me, are at the forefront of advancing sapphic content in mainstream media.

Unlike Thailand, which seems to be fully embracing the production of GL series, the Philippines has been slower to join the race. You can count the number of Filipino women-loving-women (WLW) films and series on one hand.

Thai GL series on YouTube, especially the most popular ones, can easily hit a million views in just a day. For example, Blank The Series released its fourth episode on June 9, 2024, and by June 10, 2024, it had already surpassed a million views. This demonstrates the strong demand for this genre—a niche with a very loyal and growing audience.
